A killing in Texas.

I am not saying for sure that those white supremacists have struck again, but.......

"A North Texas prosecutor packed heat because he knew he was a target — and may have been slain by the same racist thugs who he suggested killed a colleague two months ago.

Investigators in Kaufman County, south of Dallas, are chasing down leads in the death of District Attorney Mike McLelland, including whether he was the latest hit in a white supremacist war on officials.

A friend found the bodies of McLelland, 63, and his wife, Cynthia, inside their home Saturday night. McLelland was shot multiple times with what appeared to be an assault rifle, while his 65-year-old wife was hit only once, according to CBS affiliate KTVT.

Authorities are looking into a link between McLelland’s murder and the assassination of Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse on Jan. 31.

McLelland at the time called Hasse’s killers “scum,” and said the violent prison gang, the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas, could be behind the brazen shooting a block from the county courthouse. Hasse’s death remains unsolved.
“I think it’s obvious,” Dallas attorney Pete Schulte, who knew McLelland, said of a connection.

“There are too many similarities,” he told the Daily News. “Both appear to be execution-style assassinations with very little witness information. We need to know if this a pandemic with elected officials being targeted.” [Source]

I remember how mad right wingnuts got a a few years ago when Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano, called them "the biggest threat for domestic terror." After everything that has been taking place of late you really have to wonder why.

"T]he Secretary of Homeland Security owes the American people an explanation for why she has abandoned using the term ‘terrorist’ to describe those, such as al Qaeda, who are plotting overseas to kill innocent Americans, while her own Department is using the same term to describe American citizens who disagree with the direction Washington Democrats are taking our nation. Everyone agrees that the Department should be focused on protecting America, but using such broad-based generalizations about the American people is simply outrageous."

It isn't outrageous if they are killing district attorneys and prison wardens.

I think that if it turns out that those lowlife cretins killed these people in Texas, it is the republicans who owe their poor families an apology.

I say wingnuts and not the actors themselves because the battle for white supremacy can take many forms, the foot soldiers who murder law enforcement officials in cold blood is just a manifestation of this phenomenon at its most base level.

"DHS/I&A has concluded that white supremacist lone wolves pose the most significant domestic terrorist threat because of their low profile and autonomy—separate from any formalized group—which hampers warning efforts..[...]
Returning veterans possess combat skills and experience that are attractive to rightwing extremists. DHS/I&A is concerned that rightwing extremists will attempt to recruit and radicalize returning veterans in order to boost their violent capabilities.
The report’s findings were congruous with previous studies that indicate right wing extremism is responsible for more instances of violence every year (with the exception of 2001, when the September 11th attacks happened) in the United States than Islamic extremist. It also tracks with the rise of hate groups in the US since 2000.

Sec. Janet Napolitano ended up withdrawing the report and apologizing to veterans who felt they’d been called out, stressing that the threat was limited to a very small number of veterans. "

It might be"a small number of veterans", but unfortunately it's a large number of another group.

"Post racial" blues.

More tales from "post-racial" America. These unbelievable stories come to us from the land of gumbo and brass bands.

The set up for the first story goes like this: An African American female contractor is down in Grand Isle, Louisiana, monitoring hurricane clean up and...well read it for yourself. (h/t Cedric for this story)

"GRAND ISLE- A contractor from Plaquemine monitoring hurricane cleanup in Grand Isle was spit on and called the "N" word, and captured the entire assault on her cell phone.

"It was humiliating," Brandi Worley told News 2. "It was just so hurtful."
Worley said two of her other coworkers were also hit by the man, who was arrested after the incident. Grand Isle Police identified him as Josh Jambon, and said he was charged with battery.

As Worley began recording the racial slurs on her phone, Jambon noticed she was recording him with her phone. That's when the video shows him going into a rage.

"I'm pleading with him not to touch me and leave me alone," Worley said. "Nothing was said to him to upset him, then he goes and spits in my face. He did the cruelest thing he could think of to demean me, break me and make me feel less than human."

When News 2 reached Jambon by phone, he defended his character but acknowledged his arrest.

"I'm a really good guy," Jambon said. "I'm a really good businessman."
When asked if he used racial slurs and the "N" word, he said, "I'd like to talk to you in front of my attorney."

When asked who is attorney was, the line disconnected.
Attorney Cleo Fields in Baton Rouge watched the video News 2 obtained. He said it clearly shows a hate crime.

"There's no place in our society for that type of behavior," Fields said. "I think he acted totally inappropriate."

As Worley tried to forget about what happened, she said her family is helping her get through the bigotry she encountered in Grand Isle.
"I'm crying today because I'm upset," Brandi's mother, Susan Worley said. "I haven't slept all night and the fear is just in me."

Police Chief Euris Dubois said further charges against Jambon could be coming." [Source & Video]

Then there is the following story from the Big Easy. (h/t Nordette)

"The I-Team first reported on the existence of the video recordings late last year. At the time, they were under seal by order of a federal judge overseeing a wrongful death case filed by the family of Brian Harris.

That seal was lifted late Friday when Judge Sarah Vance dismissed the case, finding "the use of deadly force objectively reasonable" and citing legal precedent.

The attorney who filed the lawsuit said he would appeal that finding.
On April 10, 2010, Harris was fatally shot by NOPD officers in his bedroom in the 7700 block of Allison Road in New Orleans East.

Harris' wife had called police, saying her husband needed medical help and noting that she was concerned for his safety.

Harris locked himself in a bedroom and is seen in the video holding a pocket knife. NOPD officers fired a Taser to subdue Harris twice, then shot him as he lay in his bed.

Attorney Jason Williams, who represents Harris' family in a lawsuit against the city, said he has wanted the public to see the two videos from the incident, which "clearly shows what transpired."

One video from the Taser's camera was given to WDSU Friday afternoon." [Source & Video]

Poor Mr. Harris found out the hard way what living in "post racial" America can mean.

BTW, I don't even know if these rogue cops were black or white. It doesn't really matter. Self hate is just as a insidious and harmful as the hate brought on by others.

Finally, how can we teach our children  to cope and survive in "post racial" America when the very people charged with teaching them are a bunch of cheaters?

"ATLANTA -- Juwanna Guffie was sitting in her fifth-grade classroom taking a standardized test when, authorities say, the teacher came around offering information and asking the students to rewrite their answers. Juwanna rejected the help.

"I don't want your answers, I want to take my own test," Juwanna told her teacher, according to Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard.
On Friday, Juwanna – now 14 – watched as Fulton County prosecutors announced that a grand jury had indicted the Atlanta Public Schools' ex-superintendent and nearly three dozen other former administrators, teachers, principals and other educators of charges arising from a standardized test cheating scandal that rocked the system.

Former Superintendent Beverly Hall faces charges including conspiracy, making false statements and theft because prosecutors said some of the bonuses she received were tied to falsified scores. Hall retired just days before the findings of a state probe were released in mid-2011. A nationally known educator who was named Superintendent of the Year in 2009, Hall has long denied knowing about the cheating or ordering it.

During a news conference Friday, Howard highlighted the case of Juwanna and another student, saying they demonstrated "the plight of many children" in the Atlanta school system.

Their stories were among many that investigators heard in hundreds of interviews with school administrators, staff, parents and students during a 21-month-long investigation." [Source]

Good for Juwanna. At least we know that she will be able to deal with the Josh Jambons of the world.

Mr. Young, you just blew ten million dollars, and a real mess in Texas.

Don't you just love when bigots are exposed as bigots and other bigots scramble to distance themselves from them? This Don Young dude is a perfect example. In a moment of honesty and candor, he revealed that his daddy owned a farm back in the day and hired "wetbacks" to work for him.

"I used to own - my father had a ranch. We used to hire 50 to 60 wetbacks to pick tomatoes," said Young, 79. "You know, it takes two people to pick the same tomatoes now."

Poor Don, his friends in the GOP are running away from him faster than Usain Bolt in the second half of a 100 yard dash. (All except the Hispanics in the GOP house who remain silent.)

This is not good for a party that's spending 10 million big ones to get Hispanics to love them. You get no love when one of your own starts throwing around slurs on the radio.

"I apologize for the insensitive term I used during an interview in Ketchikan, Alaska," he said. "There was no malice in my heart or intent to offend; it was a poor choice of words. That word, and the negative attitudes that come with it, should be left in the 20th century, and I'm sorry that this has shifted our focus away from comprehensive immigration reform."

It should have been left in the "20th century", and you should have stayed there with it.

Finally, I got my latest issue of Sports Illustrated (SI) today, and while trying to get away from the troubles of the real world by turning to the world of sports, the big R and big S smacked me in the face from the pages of my SI.

"Former University of Texas women's track coach Bev Kearney has filed race and gender discrimination complaints against the school with federal and state officials, the first step toward her pursuing a lawsuit.

Kearney, who is black, filed complaints Tuesday with the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Texas Workforce Commission. By law, those agencies must have the case for 180 days before she can sue.
Kearney resigned Jan. 5 as Texas prepared to fire her for an inappropriate relationship with one of her athletes in 2002. Texas later revealed that assistant football coach Major Applewhite, who is white, was allowed to keep his job after having an inappropriate relationship with a student trainer on a bowl trip in 2008. Applewhite was reprimanded in 2009 by athletic director DeLoss Dodds and his pay was frozen for a year.

University officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment Saturday.

"We think there is a double standard at the University of Texas, giving men the opportunity to engage in inappropriate relationships without fear of being caught or punished,'' Kearney attorney Derek Howard said Saturday.
Howard said more details on Kearney's complaints would be released Monday.
Kearney, who was hired at Texas in 1993, won six national championships with the Longhorns. She had been recommended for a large raise until the relationship was reported to the school in October and she was suspended in November.

Although Kearney and the school described the relationship as consensual, Patti Ohlendorf, Texas vice president for legal affairs, said in January the school could not condone a coach having a relationship with an athlete, saying it "crosses the line of trust placed in the head coach for all aspects of the athletic program and the best interests of the student athletes on the team.''

School officials have said they don't believe Kearney had any similar relationships with other student athletes.

In Applewhite's case, his relationship with the student trainer wasn't publicly revealed until 2013. According to a 2009 document in his personnel file released by the school last month, Applewhite was ordered by Dodds to undergo counseling and warned that a repeat offense would have more serious consequences." [Source]

Hmmm, Mr. Applewhite was a married man with children when he got his wild thing on with a student. Ms. Kearney, on the other hand, was not.
Mr. Applewhite gets a raise and a promotion, Ms. Kearney is told to resign or be fired.

Stay tuned folks. It looks like someone might be in the process of "hooking em horns".

A Rick Ross blows an apology, and the president's daughters are under attack.

"The heat has definitely been on Rick Ross this week after he left fans outraged when he rapped the lyrics, “put a molly in her champagne  she ain’t even know it, I took her home and enjoyed that,” in a new song titled, “You Don’t Even Know.” Since the track dropped, folks have been outraged that a rapper could blatantly talk about date rape in a song with no repercussions.

Today, during a promo stop in New Orleans, Rick Ross made his way down to Q 93.3 radio station to clear up the drama while saying that his lyrics were misinterpreted.
I wanted to come down to the radio station. There is certain things you can’t tweet, you have to verbalize. I want to make sure this is clear, that woman is the most precious gift known to man, you understand? It was a misunderstanding with a lyric, a misinterpretation where the term rape wasn’t used. I would never use the term rape. As far as my camp, hip hop don’t condone that. The streets don’t condone that. Nobody condones that. So I wanted to reach out to all the queens that’s on my timeline, all the sexy ladies, the beautiful ladies that have been reaching out to me with the misunderstanding. We don’t condone rape and I’m not with that.
On if he believes that people are being too sensitive regarding lyrics

I think that’s a good thing at the same time. Sometimes I think it’s our job as an artist to clarify the sensitive things and the things that we know really need to be clarified, such as a situation as this. The boss ain’t with that. We ain’t with that. Double M ain’t with that. And that’s what it’s about.
So, where’s the misinterpretation?" [Source]

I was wondering the exact same thing.

Dude said on one of his tracks that he raped a woman. He should apologize and say that it was a stupid thing to say and that he will never say it again. End of story.

Rick, it's cool to apologize. I know that you want to be a gangsta and all, but no one will think you are "sof" if you step up to the plate and say that you said something stupid.

Sorry dude, you are still in the house.

Speaking of being in the house, I wonder if the wingnuts among us have lost all sense of shame. I know that these are tough political times for you when the HNIC is beating you at every turn, but the hypocrisy when it comes to President Obama is now officially out of control.

Why should the president's daughters be denied something that hundreds of thousands of students in this country do every year? Vacations are not just for wealthy kids. I thought that this was a rite of passage with American teenagers.

*Field, that would be for white teenagers. Vacations are not for you Negroes. Negro children are not supposed to enjoy themselves.*

Oh, my bad. So anyway, there was republican congressman, Steve King, ripping the president's daughters for allegedly going on spring break down in the Bahamas.

"A Republican congressman slammed President Obama for reportedly sending his daughters on a spring break vacation in the Bahamas on Wednesday, saying it was the “wrong image to be coming out of the White House.”

Rep. Steve King made the rare critical comment about the First Daughters on an Iowa-based radio show called Mickelson in the Morning.

In audio of the segment posted online by the progressive blog ThinkProgress, King fielded a call from a woman who referenced a Breitbart News report that Sasha and Malia Obama are vacationing in the Bahamas.

The White House does not confirm information about the girls’ travel plans for security and privacy reasons.

The caller said the report was “really hard to stomach.”

You’re right on the President. I mean, he needs to show some austerity himself,” he said.

“He sent the daughters to spring break in Mexico a year ago – that was at our expense too,” King added. “And now to the Bahamas at one of the most expensive places there. That is the wrong image to be coming out of the White House.” [Source]

We are quite familiar with the imagery. And we also know why it drives certain people crazy.

Land of the guns.

My friends, we live in crazy times. If you are a law abiding citizen and just want to go about your business and pursue happiness in the land of the [some are] free, you have to wonder if it isn't time to just find another country. (You can't even enjoy a pleasant night out with your family without some gun nut spoiling your evening.)

Honestly, here in America, the gun nuts are starting to scare me as much as the criminals. At least with the criminals we know their terrain, what they are looking for, and who they are targeting. With these gun nuts you just never know.

"IT WAS THE phone call gun enthusiasts feared under President Obama's America, and it came unexpectedly on a Thursday for one South Jersey man sucking down some cold ones at the local Applebee's.

Come home now, the police are here. They want to take a look at your guns.
Police in Carneys Point, Salem County, said Shawn Moore was "ranting and waiving," "aggressive" and acting "arrogantly" when he rushed home from the restaurant March 14 to find them there, asking to look at his firearms because of an anonymous call they had received about his children's safety.
Moore later apologized for his behavior, police said, and his wife, Julie, told them he was still reeling from Obama's election in 2008.

"While we were waiting, Julie stood and spoke to us stating, Shawn has not been the same person since President Obama was elected. She stated he is obsessed with gun control, owning weapons and his right to bear arms," an officer wrote in the police report, obtained Tuesday by the Daily News. "Julie seemed embarrassed at her husband's behavior, however, she did not seem surprised."

Moore made national headlines last week after it was reported that someone saw a picture on Facebook of his son holding the military-looking .22-caliber rifle he received for his 11th birthday and called both police and New Jersey's Division of Children and Families. Moore wrote about the incident on an online firearms forum afterward, and the story went national after Glenn Beck's conservative news site, The Blaze, picked it up.

The police report said the anonymous caller had expressed other concerns as well, claiming that Julie Moore instructed her son to shoot "anyone who breaks in to their home" and that Shawn Moore had "issues with alcohol" and multiple DUI offenses.

When Moore got home, police said he smelled of alcohol and he definitely had an issue with officers and DCF workers being there. Moore had spoken with noted firearms attorney Evan Nappen on the phone before he arrived and immediately asked the officers and DCF workers to leave.
From the News Desk

"I tried to explain to Shawn that no one wanted to remove his firearms, to which Shawn rebuffed that there is legislation going through Congress to ban his firearms," one officer wrote. [Store]

Now maybe you see why I am scared for this country's future. Maybe it will all end after O leaves office, but somehow I don't think it will. Unfortunately the more threatened these people feel about their position in Amurderca is the  more unhinged they become.

Greg Thrasher wrote a very thought provoking essay after visiting a gun control rally in Maryland, recently. Here are some excerpts from his article:

"The supporters of gun control were diverse in hue and gender while the supporters against gun control was almost 100% white males. This raw visual has now informed me to pen this commentary.
Recent media accounts have reported and documented that during the Obama presidency unlike any other modern day presidency the gun sales in our nation have been brisk with sales of guns in excess of 65,000,000. The overwhelming purchasers of these guns have been white males. The proliferation of guns in our society has been stunning and staggering . America even before the election of its first person of color was and remains the number #1 Arms Merchant on the planet. Our arms industry is the greatest manufacturer in the world when it comes to armaments and weapons of destruction. The gun lobbies from the NRA to those who shill to supply the Defense Department is unparallel.(sic) There is right now in the country a frenzy surrounding guns it stings the air with fear and in many venues a giddy aroma.

America is where democracy is exported our Department of Defense's budget comes close to a trillion dollars a year every year. Our society is a culture where violence is worshipped and exported . In America the gun is worshipped as a sacred artifact. The fervor for guns is beyond any sense of reason and borders on insanity. Gun violence not only destroys lives but the health costs of gun violence is in the billions. The reality of suicides and gun mishaps in the homes of families is tragic and senseless.

It is critical that as a nation and culture we must take a life altering posture and position towards the possession and ownership of guns especially in communities of color where the carnage of guns is creating killing fields. Many have even uttered the words that in Black venues folks are engaged in a self destructive community inflicted ethnic cleansing . Into this gun abyss the staff of PLANE IDEAS has endorsed the total confiscation of all guns. We support government mandated gun confiscation ASAP.

For Black folks in many venues across the country we need to have a calibrated examination and analysis of gun confiscation. What is more lethal for the Black community and progressives gun ownership where the majority of guns are owned by the majority population( read Whites) or the absence of all gun ownership even guns owned by Blacks.

We have to ask, as change agents, which is safer and more secure for us as a people and a community. Clearly the loss of life at the hand of guns owned by the majority against Blacks is greater than the loss of life by Blacks against Blacks. Gun confiscation means a longer mortality and morbidity in the face of gun violence. Our communities are more secure and safe from gun violence with the absence of guns than the ownership and possession of guns in our homes and in the community ."

Well Greg, I suspect that you Negroes are safe for now. But if the bad apples among us keep showing out, what do you think will happen when the unhinged mobs from the "majority" population come to drive us out because of a perceived threat? Shawn Moore is just one of many.

If the President's daughters can have their safety compromised by a right wing rag, what do you think will become of the rest of us Negroes?

You Negroes better grab some books and start reading about Rosewood, Florida.

Safety first.

I am guessing that the poor guy in this story is now thinking that his risk/ reward assessment of gun ownership didn't work out quite like he planned it.

You load up with your guns to protect your family from the Barbarians at your gate--- and the government coming to get you in their black helicopters--- and you end up splitting your own ten year old son's wig.

'He was careful with it,' Robert Simmons, the boy's uncle, told Carolinalive.com. 'I don't think he meant to hold it in that direction. There must have been a bullet lodged in the chamber and it fired and hit him.'

The father dropped his gun and rushed his eight-year-old daughter to another room.
His wife, who had been making dinner when the tragedy happened, called 911. Paramedics arrived at the home and pronounced the child dead on scene.
No charges have been filed in the case."

This is happening way too often. Why aren't these gun owners taking gun safety classes?

A quick check of Google and I get this, story, this story, and this story. The NRA is clearly not doing enough to teach their members about proper gun safety.

Speaking of the NRA, those wonderful people are now making robo-calls to the residents of Newtown, Connecticut, and they are urging them to oppose any gun control laws being proposed in Washington.

"'The National Rifle Association has also been sending out postcards — and in some cases actually calling Newtown residents — and telling them to urge their local legislators to vote no on “dangerous anti-gun legislation.'

But the gun group may have shot themselves in the foot.
Local politicians targeted by the NRA say most the calls they’ve gotten are from people angered by the NRA’s heartless tactics."

"Shot themselves in the foot"? I don't think so. Unlike their members the NRA never misses their target.

When ignorance meets fame, and are there strange fruits to be found in Delaware?

It's time to attack black.

The last time I called out a rapper and put him in the house for some ignorant s*** he did, I got a couple of nasty e-mails from some clown who claimed to be in his crew telling me that I better "protect my neck."

Well I am still here, and if you want to get at me I am not hard to find. I will be that bald headed black dude on my courthouse grind every day getting all kinds of love from the sartorial connoisseurs.

So anyway, the latest rapper on my radar is the ignorant Negro who dropped the following lyrics:

Put molly all in her champagne, she aint even know it. I took her home and I enjoyed that, she aint even know it.

So we are encouraging date rape in rap songs, now? This is even more troubling because this particular rapper happens to be one of the most popular in the rap game right now. Rick Ross is large in more ways than one, but Rick Ross has to understand that with fame comes responsibility, and there are just certain things that you should not brag about: Raping your date comes to mind.

Sorry Mr. Maybach man, I have to co-sign with the editorial from Urban Daily.

"The timing of this lyric couldn’t be worse as women in Delhi fight to protect their womanhood from rape and young boys in America are being sent to jail because they think it’s ok to have sex with women who are too drunk or high to give consent.

No. No. No. This is not cool, swag or “bawse.” I don’t care how many vaginal assaults a drugged-out actress asks for on Twitter, it is not acceptable to preach the practice of drugging women to have sex with them “without them even knowing.” If she didn’t know she didn’t give consent. And if she didn’t give consent she was raped. You’re out here telling your fans that it’s cool to rape women and YOU don’t even know it."

I hope he doesn't know it. Sadly, though, I think he does.

Finally, somebody posted a comment after one of my previous posts (I wish I could remember who it is to give them proper credit) about alleged lynchings that took place in the state of Delaware which is just a hop, skip and jump down I-95 from the kid. If true, it is an extremely troubling development. So obviously, me being the racism chaser than I am, I decided to look into it.

I am sad to report that the person who left the comment wasn't just blowing smoke. There is something to the story and it should be looked into by a responsible and trustworthy law enforcement organization.

I know it's the VP's state, (some are already claiming a liberal cover-up) but Eric Holder might want to put some boots on the ground there just to see what's up. Let the chips fall where they may. If the VP is embarrassed because some people in his state feel like getting their KKK on, well then so be it.

Cleansing their towns of Negroes, and Pistolvania earns its name.

I watched an excellent documentary today about the way white folks drove blacks out of some Southern towns and stole their land. It is called "Banished" , and it is recommended viewing for anyone who wants to learn more about America's history and the "ethnic cleansing" that took place in some places back in the day.

It's interesting how George H. Bush sent payments and apologies to Japanese Americans who were wrongfully imprisoned in internment camps but the descendants of people who were driven out of towns and had their land stolen from under them get zilch.

Shhh..... we can't have anything reminding us of America's shameful history when it comes to the treatment of black folks.

Anyway, you are about to see why I call my home state Pistolvania. Besides the shootings that takes place all too often in my hometown of Philadelphia, we have folks the rural areas of our state forgetting that they have their guns for hunting animals and not people.

"PETERSBURG, Pa. (AP) — A central Pennsylvania father shot and killed his 2-year-old son and wounded his estranged wife during a custody exchange before killing himself, authorities said.
Police said Kenneth Ayers also shot at his mother during the altercation Saturday morning at her home in a rural area about 20 miles southwest of State College.

Huntingdon County District Attorney George Zanic said Ayers, 52, was subject to a protection from abuse order filed by his wife but was permitted visits with his son, Michael.

Saturday's visit was to happen at his mother's home in Barree Township. But once at the home, Ayers got into an altercation with his estranged wife, Hollie Jo, and shot her in the legs and arm with a .40 caliber handgun before intentionally shooting his son, police said.

Kenneth Ayers placed the child's body in the back of his vehicle but the wounded woman retrieved the body before Ayers shot her again in the face, police said. He also fired at his mother but missed.
"Words can't describe the scene ... heartbreaking," Zanic told The (Altoona) Mirror outside the home.

Kenneth Ayers' body was found several hours later in his parked truck in a wooded area in Warriors Mark Township. Investigators said he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Hollie Jo Ayers was transported to a hospital and expected to survive, according to police."

State police Cpl. Daniel Sneath said investigators are trying to determine what led to the shooting and why Ayers was carrying a gun despite the protection order.

Police will also seek an autopsy to determine whether Kenneth Ayers was under the influence drugs or alcohol. [Source]

Please feel free to insert a cliché here.

Finally, speaking of shootings; it turns out that the daddy of that white supremacist who shot and killed that prison warden in Colorado was friends with the governor of the state.

I guess no matter how hard you try you just can't control who your children chooses to associate with.

Of course we will now here that Evan was a "wonderful and loving" kid, and that the only reason he snapped was because the evil people who run the prisons placed him solitary confinement.

"Attorney Jack Ebel testified before the Colorado Legislature two years ago that solitary confinement in a Colorado prison was destroying the psyche of his son, Evan.

When Jack Ebel's longtime friend, Gov. John Hickenlooper, was interviewing a Missouri corrections official for the top prisons job in Colorado, he mentioned the case as an example of why the prison system needed reform. And once Tom Clements came to Colorado, he eased the use of solitary confinement and tried to make it easier for people housed there to re-enter society.

Now authorities are investigating whether Evan Spencer Ebel, who was paroled in January, is linked to the assassination of Clements, who was shot and killed Tuesday night when he answered the front door of his house in a rural neighborhood. [Source]

I guess Evan wasn't too pleased with the Warden's reforms.

Failing schools and failing parents.

I see you Negroes pitching a hissy fit in places like Chicago and here in Philly over the school board in these cities deciding to close a bunch of public schools.

But my question to you Negroes would be this: Why now? Why are you just now coming to the realization that a proper [public school] education is important and that the school house is the most important part of our community?

A colleague of mine is five months pregnant with her first child, and she is already thinking about her unborn child's future. She was lamenting the lack of quality public schools (K-12) here in Philly in predominantly African American neighborhoods, and the lack of focus and interest that people (even well educated and professional ones) take in making sure that fine schools are available in their neighborhoods.

The black folks who can afford it ship their money -and their children- off to private schools and never look back. The folks who do send their children to the neighborhood schools are not as involved with their children's educational well being as they should be, and they never give the children's school a second thought until something like budget cuts comes along and smacks them in the face. I am not a fan of charter schools, but it's easy to see why the charter school movement is picking up steam across the country.

"Field, even in Chinatown the folks over there are making sure that their children have good neighborhood schools, and meanwhile in upper middle class neighborhoods in the city we are lacking. I am already worried about where my child is going to end up and whether my husband and I will be able to afford it."

I feel your pain my sister. I feel your pain. If your child isn't a genius and fortunate enough to hit the lottery and get into one of our better performing public schools, you are going to have to shell out the big bucks or be the only parent at PTA meetings at one of the lower performing schools. This is the sad reality that we are faced with in black America: Many of us just do not place as much importance as we should in a proper education.

At the end of the day, school closings may or may not save the cities money. I will leave that for others to decide. But the bottom line is that until we start showing more interest in our kid's education this is the type of games that will be played with our children's future. If you don't care about your own child's education, why do you think that some bureaucrat who is paid well over six figures to watch the bottom line will?

"'Every child in every neighborhood in Chicago deserves access to a high-quality education that prepares them to succeed in life, but for too long children in certain parts of Chicago have been cheated out of the resources they need to succeed because they are in underutilized, under-resourced schools,'  Byrd-Bennett said.

'As a former teacher and a principal, I've lived through school closings and I know that this will not be easy, but I also know that in the end this will benefit our children."'

No it won't. Because they will still have the same parents.

Wassup Doc?

“Just so we’re clear, I’m not really into being the ‘black friend,’” Touré began. “If I get that sense that you like me just because I’m black and you’re, sort of, exocitcizing that, then your emails stop getting returned.”

“But the demand for black friends continues, because some people need them to make themselves feel not racist. Take the Republican Party,” Touré continued.

The MSNBC host cited the Republican National Committee’s report on the circumstances which led to their losses during the 2012 election cycle. In the report, the RNC advised the GOP to build inroads and relationships with African-Americans.

“I don’t feel cared about by the GOP at all,” Touré added. “People who respect and care about me don’t try to suppress my vote.”

He said that this, among other issues, is the logical reasoning behind the African-American community’s antipathy towards the Republican Party. “Such is the dysfunctional, abusive relationship the GOP has with black folk,” Touré said. “They say they want a new relationshipwhile continuing to try to screw us over.”
Touré said that Carson has been embraced so quickly by the GOP because he is helpful for “assuaging their guilt.”

“Carson is a brilliant medical thinker, but he’s got intellectual tumors in his mind like a flat tax – which is regressive and ignorant in the face of American wealth inequality where the top 1 percent own 35 percent, and the bottom 60 percent own 2.3 percent,” Touré opined. “I doubt Jesus would tax them equally, just as I doubt the GOP would entertain a white, non-politician with unserious ideas.”
Touré noted that Carson is the beneficiary of a form of “affirmative action” within the Republican Party which elevates minority voices beyond or in spite of their qualifications." [Source]

Maybe it's because he is a Seventh Day Adventist, (happy Sabbath Sis) but I have tried not to rip the republican's new friend, Dr. Ben Carson, over the past few months. Dr. Carson has a great story, and deep down he is a good person. I remember meeting him a few years ago and being impressed with his humble demeanor. Most people with such an impressive resume didn't carry themselves like that. But that was then, and this is now.

But still, I am not going to rip Dr. Carson, especially when Touré just did such a wonderful job of ripping him for me.

See Michele run, and "cowards" in Washington.

I have been looking for the "Drop Squad's number ever since I was on with my man Jesse Lee Peterson on Tuesday.  That Negro done lost his mind. Sadly, they have a lot of Negroes like Jesse in America. Now I see why Sean Hannity loves him so much.

I bet Jesse has love for Michele Bachman. Now there is someone who has lost her mind. (Did you see her running away from Dana Bash?Priceless!) It's gotten so bad with Michele that even her fellow conservatives are telling her to dial it back a bit.

"Bachmann claims Bo Obama has a full-time dog handler, but he doesn’t, White House groundskeeper Dale Haney has voluntarily walked every presidential dog since Nixon’s (he likes dogs); she says Air Force One has five chefs, but it’s more like cooks, and White House staffers need to pay — $20 per meal — out of their own pockets to eat; she claims 70 percent of the money spent on food stamps goes to bureaucrats, which just isn’t close to true.
CNN congressional corespondent Dana Bash tried to ask Bachmann Tuesday about her the inconsistencies in her speech. It didn’t go too well, as she explained to Anderson Cooper last night. Bash, who has gotten pretty good at chasing Bachmann in heels, tried to speak with the Tea Party Caucus chairwoman in the basement of the Capitol, but the congresswoman took off running. Bash kept pace, valiantly trying to keep up her questions as they careered through the narrow corridors, but Bachmann refused to play ball.
Finally, the congresswoman stopped, squared her shoulders to Bash, and unleashed a tirade. How dare you “talk about dog handlers when we have four Americans killed in Benghazi,” she demands. Bash replies by noting that it was Bachmann, not her, who brought up the dog handlers in her CPAC speech. Bachmann takes off again, leaving Bash holding her microphone in thin air, saying, “but you’re the one who brought it up.”

Sadly, Mrs. Bachmann pretty much represents the type of politician that the Tea Party has been churning out these days.

Finally, it looks like another teen has become a victim of bullying.

This kid was in the 8th grade and he put a 40 caliber handgun to his head and took his own life.

"Police locked down the school temporarily before parents were asked to pick up their children around 9:15 a.m. Classes were canceled for Friday and will resume Monday.

“It got pretty emotional with the adults. They need a lot of support right now,” Grusecki said. “We could see it in their faces. It was difficult for all of us.”
Police are determining who owned the gun and how the student obtained it.

Does it matter? There are so many guns in Amurderca that he could have gotten it anywhere. I am guessing that he got it right there at home from under daddy's old Playboy Magazines.

Good luck Mayor Bloomberg. It's going to take every penny of those billions you have to win this fight. Unfortunately, though, you will not be getting any help from the "cowards" in Washington.

A sheriff wishes death on the president, and a newspaper buries the story.

Tonight my racism chase takes me to that very blue, very Yankee state of Massachusetts, where the heart of a racist (that's the big guy to the right) is just as malevolent as the heart of the racist living in the heart of Dixie.

"A sheriff in Massachusetts is refusing to apologize for joking that President Barack Obama could best serve the country by being assassinated.

Plymouth County Sheriff Joseph D. McDonald, Jr. made the joke during a local St. Patrick’s Day breakfast for Republicans on Sunday. He said that the ghost of Lincoln appeared to Obama in a dream and advised him to go to the theater, where the former president was shot in the head."

Of course this is a bit troublesome, because our ignorant friend in Massachusetts happens to be a sheriff. Hey I know that I blog about them, but I don't worry about the garden variety racist. (Like the the ones who posts anonymously on the Internet, or this guy.) But racists in positions of power are a different story.

Of course our friend is doubling down, and he doesn't see anything wrong with a law enforcement official wishing death on the president of the United States.

"It was absolutely in jest,” he told The Patriot Ledger. “It was a joke. It wasn’t a new joke by any means.”

McDonald claimed it was “absurd” to be offended by the joke because it had existed since the late 19th century.

“The basic concept of it has been around since the Andrew Johnson administration,” he explained to Patch. “The radical Republicans wanted him to take a much harder line on Reconstruction of the South, and the joke was that Johnson should have gone to the theater instead of Lincoln.”
McDonald also accused liberals of hypocrisy, saying he heard similar jokes told about former President George W. Bush." [Source]

Of course our cerebrum challenged friend is wrong with his analogy. I am quite sure that he can't find an instance of a democratic sheriff wishing death on former president Bush.

Now as troubling as this story might seem, there is an even more troubling aspect to it.

"The blog Blue Mass Group notes that The Boston Globe removed the joke from their report of the event, without explaining why. A source at The Globe confirmed, to Mediaite, that there was no question about the accuracy of the account. The source did not further explain the editorial decision."

I guess the globe didn't want to chase the Big R. But I thought that the press was supposed to report everything that happens. Shame on the Globe!

But don't worry folks; you don't need newspapers like the Globe, I have your racism chase covered right here.

Angry republicans, and the wages of the wrong house is death.

A couple of republican stalwarts are really upset with the republican establishment these days.

"The “GOP civil war” is a phrase we’ve been hearing often, and Mark Levin offered his particularly dramatic take during Monday night’s broadcast when he weighed in on the RNC’s so-called autopsy report. Tearing into the report’s proposed change of course, Levin reminded his audience that America is a conservative country — but Republicans will continue to lose under current leadership.

Referring to the likes of Jeb Bush and Karl Rove, Levin recalled the trend of the Hispanic vote during elections since the 1980s. “The truth is, this community is the most reliable Democratic-voting bloc, other than blacks and Jews,” he asserted, adding that the Democratic Party doesn’t say they need to reach out to the middle class or white vote.

The Republican Party doesn’t push its agenda “because it doesn’t have an agenda — other than one that’s written by the left,” he argued."

And now on to another angry white guy:

"The release of the RNC’s autopsy report has been accompanied by a wave of criticism — largely from conservatives who view the proposed changes as veering away from their principles. The message isn’t the problem, Rush Limbaugh argued on Tuesday, it’s the way that message is being discussed. And currently, the GOP is aiding Democrats in securing their own defeat." [Source]

Why are these people so angry?? Do they really believe that they are being relegated to second class status in "their" country, or is it just an act to make even more money at the expense of the suckers who hang on to their every word?

Finally, everyone is on edge in America these days. So you parents of color really need to watch your kids. Everyone is shooting first and asking questions later. (See what you started Mr. Zimmerman?)

Down in Virginia a young man was shot to death by a neighbor who thought that he was an intruder.

"Caleb Gordley wanted to go to a party Saturday night. But the 16-year-old was grounded because he hadn’t cleaned his room.
So he decided he’d sneak out of his Loudoun County, Va., house to be with his friends.

When he left the party about 2 a.m., Caleb needed to sneak home. His friends dropped him off and helped hoist him through a back window. But Caleb had been drinking and had gone to the wrong house. The brick homes on his street are similar, and Caleb was two doors down from his own.

The homeowner heard his burglar alarm sound, called police to report an intruder, grabbed his gun and went to investigate. When the two met on the stairs inside the house, the man said he told the teen to leave and fired a warning shot, according to a law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation."

Caleb’s mother, Jennea, told The Associated Press on Tuesday she believed the shooting was an accident.
“I don’t even blame the gentleman,” Jennea Gordley said. “I don’t know what I would have done.”

In the wake of the shooting, Caleb’s friends and family were trying to figure out how this promising, well-liked athlete, who stayed out of trouble and generally listened to his parents, could have died in such a way." [Source]

He lives in America, that's how.

Throw the black man from CPAC, and the Devil we know.

I think the folks over at The Onion are messing with us again. This story cannot be real.

They actually tossed some black dude out of CPAC because he posed some tough questions to the GOP faithful?

That is not cool.

"In this video from CPAC, a black man seems like he sincerely interested in helping find a way for conservatives to appeal to other African Americans, but then he suddenly gets screamed on by a white guy who insists that "race doesn't matter." Which in short, summarizes why the Republicans continually lose the vote of any group that doesn't have white skin. Here is a partial transcript:
Black guy: "Recruit us."
White guy: "So?"
Black guy: "What's wrong with the message?"
White guy: "Why didn't you go out and look?"
Black guy: "What's wrong with the message? How many?" (Holding up five fingers on one hand)
White guy: "I don't count?!?!"
Black guy: "It matters."
White guy: "I don't ask people what their . . ?"
Black guy: "It matters because."
White guy: ((unintelligible))
Black guy: "I do. Cause race matters."
White guy: "No it doesn't!!! You're an American! You're not a black person! You're an American! I didn't go in and count all the Jews?"
The white guy continues to scream at the black guy, and doesn't get asked to leave. The black guy gets asked to leave. There's a shocker.
Then, perhaps realizing what a racist ass he has revealed himself to be, the white guy accuses the black guy of trying to divide the country by acknowledging that he is, in fact, a black guy in a failed effort to hide the fact that he's a racist.
Near the end of the video, the man who was asked to leave goes on to say:
"I'm trying to understand how come there's no black people here. I'm trying to figure out why the outreach of the GOP and especially CPAC is not working with black citizens and I have yet to find an answer, only I get, all I've gotten is abrasive attitudes and people yelling because I guess I ask the tough question, just ask the simple question, where's the inclusion? Where are the black people? I don't know why that is so offensive?"
Perhaps this man hasn't yet caught on that the Republican Party is a broken flop. Republicans telling white Republicans that race no longer matters only works on white Republicans, and they exclude everyone who isn't white and wealthy.

Here's another shocker: The bald screaming white guy is none other than Jeff Dunetz, yidwithlid. A full blown Breitbart ambushing hack."

"Bald screaming white guy". That's a perfect backdrop for the stormfont CPAC gathering. Why you Negroes even try to engage these shlemiels is beyond me. But hey, I respect you all for trying. Maybe you all can pocket some of that ten million the RNC is throwing around for minority outreach.

Speaking of things that cannot be real. The History Channel found themselves in the middle of a controversy with their new miniseries called The Bible. Folks are saying that the Devil resembles a certain tall skinny guy with a Muslim name. (No wonder Jay-Z likes him so much. I kid, I kid.) Anyway, some, like my twitter fam Alinda, would argue that this is just a "variation of the they all look alike" meme.  Others would argue that dude really does like his Oness, and that the History Channel, like Lucy, has some splaining to do. (Why does the black man have to play the devil?) The wingnuts, of course, all see this as some sort of a sign. I can already hear the sermons come Sunday morning:

"My brothers and sisters, just as we have always suspected, that Obama fellow is the devil. Sometimes the Lord works in mysterious ways. He chose the History Channel to reveal this all to us."

"Creators of the History channel series called the comparison off base.
“This is utter nonsense,” HISTORY channel producers Roma Downey and Mark Burnett said. “The actor who played Satan, Mehdi Ouazanni, is a highly acclaimed Moroccan actor. He has previously played parts in several Biblical epics — including Satanic characters long before Barack Obama was elected as our president.”

Too late Mr. Burnett, you have already opened that door, and all hell is breaking loose (pun intended) on social media.

"Right-wing commentator and radio-host Glenn Beck tweeted: "Anyone else think the Devil in #TheBible Sunday on History Channel looks exactly like That Guy?"

Glenn, he might look like him, but I suspect that you are a lot closer to the Devil than"That Guy".

Being happy at Philly Mag, and searching for a time machine for CPAC.

I really wish this "Being White in Philly" brouhaha would come to an end.

Unfortunately the mayor doesn't share my sentiment. And, understandably, neither does Philly Mag. (A summit on race? Seriously?)

I can understand Philly Mag milking this story to the very last drop; they were losing advertising dollars because no one was reading it. And now, with this article, all of that might have changed.

Mayor Nutter, on the other hand, has far more important things to be worrying about these days. The last thing we need is an official letter from the Mayor to Philly Magazine crying a river about the article.

So anyway, there was Sarah Palin down in Maryland (every time I see that woman I hear the Michigan fight song in my head) making light of a serious health problem in this country, comparing the president of the United States to a convicted felon, and joking about background checks for potential gun owners. She did this from the podium while speaking at a major conservative conference.

I suppose we shouldn't be surprised that one of the Sunday morning talking heads said that CPAC reminds him of "going to the land before time." Someone needs to stop these people before this country loses one of its major political parties.

It's so bad for those folks that now we learn they are going to spend 10 million to find a way to reach out to minorities. Memo to CPAC: You don't have to spend a dime to attract minority voters if you start using a little common sense and practicing a little decency towards said minorities.

For instance, we know that you can't control all of the people under your tent, but an official statement about what transpired at one of the breakout sessions on race down at CPAC would have been nice. Instead, you let sites like Little Green Footballs run an article on it and some of the racists in your party. What do we get from you? *crickets*

Fifty Shades of Oprah, and a call for segregation at CPAC.

That boy Terrence Howard done lost his mind. I know he is supposed to be a big shot actor and all, but you don't go around messing with black royalty like Oprah.

"It appears that billionaire Oprah Winfrey has a sense of humor as large as her bank account. After actor Terrence Howard turned heads earlier this month mentioning Winfrey’s bosom while filming a love scene, the media mogul responded to Howard’s comments in an interview with Steve Harvey.
RELATED: The Strangest Chat With Terrence Howard Reveals His Cure For Cancer & Lust For Oprah

Last week, in an interview with Movie Fanatic on his upcoming film “The Butler,” which is directed by Lee Daniels, Howard said:
“To be able to make out with Oprah, to have love scenes with her and those tig ol’ bitties — she’s such a lovely and voluptuous woman. … She’s very, very, very beautiful, and that was wonderful.”

Keptman...I mean, Stedman is going to get with you boy. Leave that man's money....I mean woman alone.

"In an clip posted Friday morning, Harvey got straight to the point and asked Oprah about Howard’s questionable comments, with Oprah responding:

“It was supposed to be a little scene, and because Terrence Howard misbehaved, it turned into a bigger scene and then a bigger scene,” said Oprah.
Harvey comically interjected to which Winfrey said, “Oh, he’s a misbehaving kind of boy. I saw him on Twitter the other day talking about my breasteses.”
Harvey said he checked Howard on his statements, echoing a sentiment that many found his public adoration of Winfrey a bit inappropriate. After saying Winfrey could buy Howard’s next film, Winfrey said she wasn’t offended as many of her fans may have been.

“I wasn’t…you know what, some people called me saying they were all offended by it. I go, ‘Well, I do have big breasteses,” said Winfrey with a laid-back shrug."

Oprah, you shouldn't be talking like that. You must have been reading "Fifty Shades of Grey with all those white women.

Finally, they have been having fun down at CPAC. Why these republican blacks would even try to have a panel discussion on anything having to do with black folks is beyond me. I mean we are talking about CPAC attendees here.

So anyway, some loser named Scott Terry was looking for his 15 minutes and it looks like he got it.

"NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland — A panel at the Conservative Political Action Committee on Republican minority outreach exploded into controversy on Friday afternoon, after an audience member defended slavery as good for African-Americans.

The exchange occurred after an audience member from North Carolina, 30-year-old Scott Terry, asked whether Republicans could endorse races remaining separate but equal. After the presenter, K. Carl Smith of Frederick Douglass Republicans, answered by referencing a letter by Frederick Douglass forgiving his former master, the audience member said 'For what? For feeding him and housing him?' Several people in the audience cheered and applauded Terry’s outburst.

After the exchange, Terry muttered under his breath, 'why can’t we just have segregation?'” [Source]

Mr. Terry, when I hear people like you I wonder the same thing.

Shooting off at the mouth at CPAC, and they are shooting children in Brooklyn.

Poor Donald Trump is still trying to fire up the troops. He played to a half empty house at CPAC today, and I bet that the faithful are all regretting that they even invited the man with the bad hairdo. Why invite a guy like Trump and snub the guy that's polling well against potential democratic candidates?

"For Republicans worried that creating a path to citizenship for 11 million undocumented immigrants will simply create 11 million more Democratic voters, Donald Trump has a solution. Bring in more European immigrants.

Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference outside of Washington, D.C., on Friday, Trump warned that Republicans are on a “suicide mission” if they support immigration reform, claiming that every single illegal immigrant will end up voting Democratic.

“When it comes to immigration, you know that the 11 million illegals, even if given the right to vote — you know, you’re gonna have to do what’s right — but the fact is, 11 million people will be voting Democratic,” Trump said.

No matter how pro-active Republicans are on immigration reform, they’re not going to win the votes of former illegal immigrants. “That’s just the way it works, and you have to be very, very careful,” Trump warned.

“You could say … that you’re on a suicide mission. You’re just not going to get those votes,” Trump said." [Source]

I hope that poor Donald realizes that if these poor folks are on a suicide mission then he is one of the people leading the charge.

Wishing for a homogeneous America and dissing every immigrant of color is one sure fire way to make sure you lose many elections for years to come.

“Now I say to myself, why aren’t we letting people in from Europe?” Trump continued. “Nobody wants to say it, but I have many friends from Europe, they want to come in.”

Trump expanded on this argument, describing personal friends who were educated at American universities and using those skills to help spur the economies of other countries.

“Tremendous people, hard-working people,” he said. “They can’t come in. I know people whose sons went to Harvard, top of their class, went to the Wharton School of finance, great, great students. They happen to be a citizen of a foreign country. They learn, they take all of our knowledge, and they can’t work in this country. We throw them out. We educate them, we make them really good, they go home — they can’t stay here — so they work from their country and they work very effectively against this. how stupid is that

It's very stupid Donald. Very stupid indeed.

I am heading up to New York tomorrow to receive an award . (Shout out to the Jamaican-American Bar Association)

On my way out to Queens I will try my best to avoid Brooklyn. I mean if the po po is shooting 16 year old black boys in the back, what do you think they will do to a grown ass bald headed black man?

Although maybe I shouldn't so quick to call out the po po on this one. I want to know if the victim was really packing, and if he really pointed a gun at the po po.

Folks in the community are outraged and have been rioting for four days now.

Anger and action against injustice is good, but where were all you Negroes in Brooklyn when 13 year old Ronald Wallace was gunned down?  (That's Ronald's grandma in the pic.)He was shot in the back and left to die on a Brownsville street. That wasn't the po po. More than likely his shooter looked just like him. We need to be outraged to the point of rioting about his death as well.

The "smear merchants".

Man this right wing smear machine is relentless. Poor Uncle Joe can't catch a break. I mean we all know that the guy is prone to gaffes (Forget that last link, it was from the Onion) and that he tends to shoot off at the mouth from time to time, but editing his words to fit a wingnut narrative is not cool.

"On Wednesday morning, Vice President Joe Biden and Attorney General Eric Holder spoke to a crowd in Rockville, Maryland, to highlight the urgent need to reduce domestic violence homicides. The conservative website National Review Online clipped a portion of the Vice President’s remarks to make it seem as though he was saying that a slap in the face is no big deal, when in fact, he was drawing a distinction between unacceptable forms of abuse. The site later added the crucial bit of context, without apology or correction, but simply a note saying the post was “amended.”

National Review Online’s Nathaniel Botwinick seems to have keyed in on Biden’s use of the clumsy phrase “garden-variety slap across the face” as a way to make the VP seem indifferent to women who are merely slapped. Here’s how their post originally appeared:
Vice President Joe Biden unveiled a new domestic-violence-reduction initiative in Maryland this morning. Unfortunately, Biden’s choice of words seemed to downplay certain forms of domestic abuse:
We’ve learned that certain behaviors on the part of an abuser portend much more danger than other behaviors. For example, if an abuser has attempted to strangle his victim, if he has threatened to shoot her, if he has sexually assaulted her, and there’s a number of other signs, about eight others. These are tell-tale signs to say this isn’t your garden-variety slap across the face.
The post was accompanied by this video featuring an obvious mid-sentence edit at the end. The video was uploaded to the NRO YouTube account, so it’s not as though they were “taken in” by some other user:" [Source]

Of course the National Review was not alone. Other conservative sites jumped on the Biden smear bandwagon and it got so bad that one of their own brethren had to call them on it.

All of this, of course, is not new. It seems that the right wing media has been functioning in a parallel universe that has yet to be visited by the rest of us here on planet earth of late.

This is why the wingnuts who only tune in to the right wing press were so devastated after the last election. In the right wing world Obama was going to lose by a landslide and the GOP would be the party in power for years to come.

Those of us in the real world knew better. We understood that there are facts, and then there is the right wing media.

You would think that after the last presidential election they would have learned their lesson. But sadly, (or maybe not) they are back, and they have become even more isolated in that wingnut bubble.

Finally, you have to feel bad for guys like Marco Rubio. There he was at CPAC today declaring to the world that he is not a bigot or a chauvinist.

Marco, here is something to consider: If you belong to a political party that has you having to declare that you are not a "bigot" or a "chauvinist" to the world, then you might want to reconsider who you choose to associate with.
