Hail to the "Dick"?

O is in town tonight collecting some big checks at David Cohen's crib up in Chestnut Hill. It must be nice. As if Comcast needed more of an edge over their competition. BTW David, my service sucks lately.

I know who won't be at O's fund raiser; my man Mark Halperin. It seems he went a little overboard on MSNBC this morning.  Mark, this could be a "Game Changer" for your ass. I hear that the White House called MSNBC to complain. (A little thin skinned aren't we there O?)

But this begs the question; would a "well respected" journalist call any other president of these divided states "a dick"? I doubt it. But such is the case with O, he is......different.

Halperin is no fan of his Oness, so I guess it was just hard for him to control him self when he saw O acting all uppity "dick" like.

Personally, I don't think that MSNBC should have suspended Halperin, --you all know how I feel about free speech. But it's just interesting to see certain people struggle to contain their inner "color arousal" (thanks for that word, Francis) in public.

Those mean liberals.

It seems that Glen Beckkk is upset because someone (allegedly) spilled wine on his wife at a park in New York.

"Reuters) - Glenn Beck, the conservative television and radio host, has taken to his Web site and radio show to complain of a "hostile" reception he and his family met from New Yorkers when they attended an outdoor film screening at a park in midtown Manhattan.

Beck told radio listeners that one person at the Bryant Park movie screening of Hitchcock's "The 39 Steps" on Monday evening shouted at him and his family: "We hate conservatives."

Another spilled a cup of wine on his wife, Tania, which Beck said he believes was a deliberate act of malice.

"As we got up to leave the movie, the crowd broke out in applause that we were finally leaving," he told listeners on his syndicated radio show..." [Article]

Question: Is there a more pathetic individual in this country than Glen Beckkk? The guy makes millions of dollars by being a polarizing figure and a lightning rod, and he cries a river because he gets the business at an outdoor park. Besides, it's not like the guy doesn't have his own security detail with him everywhere that he goes. It must be nice. If someone wants to step to me and try to kick my ass I have to go Kingston 12 on his ass all by my damn self.

Anyway, as is always the case with wingnuts; it seems that Mr. Beck might have been stretching the truth a little bit.

"It was my friend that spilled the glass of wine on Tanya -and I can assure you that it was a complete accident. A happy one, to be sure, but nonetheless a complete and utter accident. As soon as the wine spilled (and I question how Tanya became soaked from a half glass of wine) apologies were made and my friends pretty much scrambled to give Tanya & co napkins -no doubt aware that it would look terrible and that their actions could be perceived as purposeful. No words were exchanged after that, as I think that it became pretty clear to Beck & co that my friends and I were doing everything in our capacity to help clean the “mess”.

That quote was from a lady named Lindsey Piscitell who claims that Beckkk is full of it. In fact, from all accounts, it was Beckkk and his bodyguards who made everyone in the park tense.

Still, it is clear from the accounts that I have read that Ms. Piscitell has no love for Beckkk, so the truth could be somewhere in the middle.

Beckkk has once again put himself in the spotlight by crying "woe is me". And, of course, his minions are eating it up. "Those liberals are so mean and nasty."
Stop it! Nothing was going to happen to Glen Beckkk or his family, and if someone even thought about stepping over the line, those well paid bodyguards would have done their jobs.

So Glen, here is a suggestion: Next time dial up Netflix and watch "Birth of a Nation" in that beautiful home theater you have there in your Connecticut estate.

Justin's big adventure.

"ass hole knee grows you are the biggest bunch of racists in america and are only good for turning where ever you live into a cesspool.just like field knee grow did to jay-may-key.i wish you knee grows would come on to my property and threaten me because i have a nice high capacity present for you.field knee grow you are just a dumb ass commie traitor. go fuck up jay-may-key some more and take detolit with you." ~ Anonymous poster~

Festus, save your "high capacity present", there are plenty of those right here in my hometown. Besides, I don't work in the pest control business, so I doubt seriously if I will be coming on your property anytime soon.

Don't you just love haters?

Anywhoo, I want to talk about the botched Negro award show that was held recently. No, not the teleprompter screw up. (Can't BET do anything right?) But rather something else that some of you Negroes are writing about.

"Most talk about Sunday’s BET Awards centered on the Chris Brown-Rihanna screw-up, however, I heard little to nothing regarding the skit involving rapper Nicki Minaj and teen heartthrob, Justin Bieber.

During the segment in which both artists rambled about who had the strongest fan base, Bieber began to flirt with the female MC. Minaj, 26, responded by asking the 17-year-old if he could drive, implicitly suggesting he is too young for her. While it rendered as a harmless crush — as would a student have for his older, attractive teacher—things got a little inappropriate when Minaj posed the question to Bieber, “Can you handle curves?” The comment was an apparent sexual innuendo and reference to her infamous rear end. Bieber replied with a resolute “Yes I can.”

Though I understand the skit had no intention to be inappropriate or offensive, it unfortunately turned out to be just that.

Since when was it OK for a minor to be implicated in such sexualized language?
17-years-old or not, Bieber is still underage, not to mention most of his fan base (most of whom stood with him on the stage) are preteen and teenage girls. The blame could be placed on Minaj and Bieber, but truthfully BET is the ultimate culprit. The network’s attempt to be provocative fell flat into a dangerous and highly sensitive locale.

But where is the public scorn?

There’s no way this would have passed if the circumstances were different. If the skit featured a male hip-hop artist and an underage girl (God forbid even white), the media would have thrown pebbles at BET and the artist himself. I guess it’s excusable if it’s a female rapper and an underage Canadian.

This isn’t the first time Justin was involved with inappropriateness regarding older women. Bieber raised eyebrows when he and Kim Kardashian, 30, befriended one another in what seemed a bit improper. Personally, I feel Bieber is growing up too fast and it’s much too soon to be involved in such raciness. While this is purely entertainment, in the real word it reaps punitive implications.

I suggest BET, Bieber and Minaj be a little more careful the next time they decide to partake in an immodest 'joke.”' [Article]

I must confess that I didn't see the skit, and, if I did,I am not sure that I would have even noticed what the writer is clearly so upset about. (Am I being sexist?)

But since he put it out there, what do you think?

Here comes another one!

I see that Michele Bachmann has officially declared that she is running to become president of these divided  states.(Just look at that picture. If that isn't "Americana" I don't know what is.) Unfortunately for her, there were some issues. Michele, you can't confuse an A-merry-can icon with a serial killer. You just can't. And I am not sure  that I would have launched my presidential campaign from a place called Waterloo. But that's just me. Still, I hope the cynics will believe me when I say good luck to Ms. Bachmann. This is what a democracy is all about; different people with different points of views being able to run for the highest office in the land.

Michele has some strong opinions about government and the role that government should play in our lives. She believes that it should be limited, and she does not believe that people should depend on the government for handouts...........Wait, somebody get out the Windex. I think we might have a lot of glass to start cleaning around Michele's house.

"Rep. Michele Bachmann has been propelled into the 2012 presidential contest in part by her insistent calls to reduce federal spending, a pitch in tune with the big-government antipathy gripping many conservatives.

But theMinnesota Republican and her family have benefited personally from government aid, an examination of her record and finances shows. A counseling clinic run by her husband has received nearly $30,000 from the state ofMinnesota in the last five years, money that in part came from the federal government. A family farm in Wisconsin, in which the congresswoman is a partner, received nearly $260,000 in federal farm subsidies." [More]

Oh My! I wish the main stream media would leave Ms. Bachmann alone. They won't stop until the drive away all the good people running for public office. Oh well, take heart Michele, there is always FOX NEWS.

Newt, is she really your friend, or is that just a photo op?

I see that Newt is courting the black vote for the "grand old party" these days. Memo to Newt: If you want to get black folks to vote for your party, tell us what you will do for us that will uplift our condition, not how bad Obama has been for us.

Newt can't really believe that black folks are going to all of a sudden forget what the republican party represents and change party affiliations, can he? That's just not going to happen. All Newt is going to get are editorials like the following that appeared in The Grio:

"Courage is one thing. But Gingrich will have to dust off his magic time machine and effectively undo a history of policy decisions and political shenanigans that have negatively impacted black communities in ways that have and will span generations.

For instance, President Ronald Reagan never supported the use of federal power to provide blacks with civil rights. In fact, he opposed the Voting Rights Act of 1965. In 1980, Reagan called the landmark legislation "humiliating to the South." It was Reagan who extolled the virtues of "states rights" when announced his bid for the presidency in Philadelphia, Mississippi where civil rights workers Andrew Goodman, Michael Schwerner and James Cheney were tortured and murdered. "States rights" and, by extension, the south's ability to continue the slave trade, was the very issue that lit the fuel on the Civil War.

For Gingrich to be right, we would have to forget about Willie Horton. We'd have to forget a now infamous television ad run by the late North Carolina Senator Jesse Holmes in which he attacked Affirmative Action by saying it took away jobs from hard working, more qualified white people and his 16-hour filibuster against honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a federal holiday". [Article]

Well, maybe you black folks would do well in the republican party; you certainly seem to have memories like elephants.

Too Close for Comfort.

I just watched the USA Mexico Gold Cup soccer final. Is that Giovani Dos Santos still breaking down the US defense? Somebody stop that man! 4-2  to Mexico. Maybe next time boys.

Now on to some more serious business. If you feel a bump about one o'clock Monday afternoon, it might just be something breaking off and hitting us from that "tour bus" sized asteroid that will be coming a little too close to mother earth for the kid.

"UPDATE for 5:35 p.m. ET: NASA has recalculated the time of closest approach for this event to be about 3 1/2 hours later than initially reported. The change is reflected below.

Here's something to dwell on as you head to work next week: A small asteroid the size of a tour bus will make an extremely close pass by the Earth on Monday, but it poses no threat to the planet.

The asteroid will make its closest approach at 1:14 p.m. EDT (1714 GMT) on June 27 and will pass just over 7,500 miles (12,000 kilometers) above the Earth's surface, NASA officials say. At that particular moment, the asteroid — which scientists have named 2011 MD — will be sailing high off the coast of Antarctica, almost 2,000 miles (3,218 km) south-southwest of South Africa.

Asteroid 2011 MD was discovered Wednesday (June 22) by LINEAR, a pair of robotic telescopes in New Mexico that scan the skies for near-Earth asteroids. The best estimates suggest that this asteroid is between 29 to 98 feet (9 to 30 meters) wide.

According to NASA's Near-Earth Object Office at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, Calif., an object of this size can be expected to come this close to Earth about every 6 years or so, on average.

There is no chance that 2011 MD will hit Earth but scientists will use the close pass as opportunity to study it w/ radar observations," astronomers with NASA's Asteroid Watch program at JPL wrote in a Twitter post Thursday (June 23).
Even if the asteroid were to enter Earth's atmosphere, it likely wouldn't reach the surface, they added.

"Asteroid 2011 MD measures about 10 meters. Stony asteroids less than 25 m would break up in Earth's atmosphere & not cause ground damage," Asteroid Watch scientists said.

The asteroid's upcoming Earth flyby will be a close shave, but not a record for nearby passing asteroids. The record is currently held by the asteroid 2011 CQ1, which came within 3,400 miles (5,471 kilometers) of Earth on Feb. 4 of this year."

Okay NASA, now that you have my attention, how concerned should I really be?

Finally, it's nice to see Van Jones trying to stand up to FOX. His lawyers have sent them a "cease and desist" letter (good luck with that), but I am pretty sure that it will be business as usual over at wingnut propaganda central. If Mr. Jones is planning a defamation suit it will be an uphill battle; but hey, at least he can give it the old college try. Besides, maybe the folks at FOX will think twice before they make false and inflammatory statements about him in the future.

Jon, why did you do it?

I always wonder why folks who want to maintain even an ounce of credibility would agree to go on FOX NEWS. The latest is Jon Stewart, who did a sit down with Chris Wallace and ate him for lunch. The folks at FOX NEWS are still talking about it every chance they get. And Stewart can't stop talking about it because he believes that the FAKE NEWS folks edited the interview to make him look bad. Duh! IT'S FOX NEWS!

Anyway, Wallace went on The Dom Imus Show [Yes, that Dom Imus] to defend the way FOX handled the interview.

"Chris Wallace defended his interview with Jon Stewart--and denied that it was edited out of context.

The interview on "Fox News Sunday" caused a huge ruckus, and Stewart spent two days talking about it on his own show. Most notably, he claimed that Fox News, in editing his 24-minute appearance down to a 14-minute segment, had made him look emotionally unstable and had taken out key portions of the interview.

"Speaking to Don Imus on his Thursday radio show, Wallace said that he thought the conversation had gone well.

"He scored some points, I scored some points," he said. He added that Stewart was "somewhat in denial about the bias of his program and more importantly of the mainstream media, and I also think he lives in denial about his ambitions."
Imus asked about Stewart's charge that the segment was edited to make him look bad. "I think if he looked bad it was his fault," Wallace said, chuckling. "The reason that anybody has seen the full version is because we put it out. We weren't hiding anything ... quite frankly, Jon was filibustering ... and we had to cut it down."

The two also agreed about Stewart's mockery of Herman Cain. (Cain harshly criticized Stewart, saying that he was being mocked because he is a black conservative.

"Name one other white performer who could get away with that," Imus said." [Story]

I know Don, you would love nothing more than to be able to mock a black person, again.

So anyway, if Cain is pissed at the way Stewart criticized him, how does he feel about the most popular conservative comparing Obama to Hitler to millions of his listeners?

Let's see if Herman breaks away from the other black conservatives and condemns one of his white conservative brethren when they make offensive and outrageous comments......Ahh wait, who am I kidding? It will never happen. Jig Herman, jig.

The end of the road for "Whitey".

I see that the feds finally caught "Whitey". Dude was chilling in Santa Monica in plain sight. He was even wearing a Red "Sax" hat for crying out loud! And here I thought he was living in some town way off the beaten path down in Mexico. It must be nice to have a certain skin tone when you are a criminal,---especially when you are an old one. Folks just tend to kind of leave you alone.

Whitey, it was a nice run, but it's time to retire to a nice quiet and secure nursing home run by the feds.

Speaking of aging white people; as the white population ages, you minorities just continue to kick out these damn babies. Now, unfortunately for some, A-merry-ca might have a problem.

"For the first time, minorities make up a majority of babies in the U.S., part of a sweeping race change and a growing age divide between mostly white, older Americans and predominantly minority youths that could reshape government policies.

Preliminary census estimates also show the share of African-American households headed by women — mostly single mothers — now exceeds African-American households with married couples, a sign of declining U.S. marriages overall but also of continuing challenges for black youths without involved fathers.
The findings, based on the latest government data, offer a preview of final 2010 census results being released this summer that provide detailed breakdowns by age, race and householder relationships.

Demographers say the numbers provide the clearest confirmation yet of a changing social order, one in which racial and ethnic minorities will become the U.S. majority by midcentury.

“We’re moving toward an acknowledgment that we’re living in a different world than the 1950s, where married or two-parent heterosexual couples are now no longer the norm for a lot of kids, especially kids of color,” said Laura Speer, coordinator of the Kids Count project for the Baltimore-based Annie E. Casey Foundation." [Story]

Oh Lawd! Could this be far behind?

Finally, I know that you Negroes love your television, but this is ridiculous. And can some USC fan out there tell me if the guy that the Sixers took with the 16th pick can actually play? Is he the next Dirk? Or is he the next Shawn Bradley?

Throw (only) the Negro from the plane.

I honestly was not going to blog about this sagging pants (dude kicked off the plane) story. Because, quite frankly, I just couldn't come to the defense of this Negro. He set the sartorial aspirations of black folks back a hundred years. He gets no love from the field. Yeah I know he was having some issues, and unless he was exposing his private body parts, he had every right to make a fool of himself. This is, after all, A-merry-ca. US Air was wrong to kick him off, but I just didn't feel like blogging about it.

That is until now. Why? Because, once again, I see hypocrisy in A-merry-ca.

Why does a young black man get kicked off a plane for showing his boxers, and a white man gets to wear nothing but his favorite Victoria's Secret outfit? [*pic] Black folks you have a right to cry double standard on this one.

"The gray-haired cross dresser boarded a June 9 flight from Fort Lauderdale to Phoenix wearing a little more than stiletto heels, thigh-high black stocking and tiny, electric blue panties, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
Witnesses said passengers complained about the flamboyant flyer, but U.S. Air let him board because the company doesn't have any rules against showing skin.
"We don't have a dress code policy," spokeswoman Valerie Wunder told the Chronicle. "Obviously, if their private parts are exposed, that's not appropriate…So if they're not exposing their private parts, they're allowed to fly." [Story]

"We don't have a dress code policy"? Ahh, let me amend that statement a little bit: "We don't have a dress code policy" for white folks. But we do have a dress code policy for  Nig black people.

*Looking for my US Air frequent flyer card* Now where did I put those scissors?

A wingnut Governor showing his true colors, and a cell phone debate.

I see that Governor Big Hair is already showing the rest of A-merry-ca how he would act as our leader. (h/t to Nichole Wicks for this story)

"SAN ANTONIO (Reuters) – Texas Gov. Rick Perry on Monday added to state lawmakers' special session agenda a measure that would criminalize "enhanced pat-downs" by Transportation Security Administration agents at airports in the Lone Star State.

The bill died during the regular session of the Texas Legislature, which ended May 30, and the Republican governor -- who is thinking of running for president -- has been under pressure from conservatives and Tea party groups to ask lawmakers to reconsider the measure. During special sessions, the Legislature may only consider items that the governor puts on the agenda.

"I am grateful that the governor heard the calls of the people demanding that lawmakers stand up for the liberties of Texans," Wesley Strackbein, a conservative activist and founder of TSATyranny.com, told Reuters. Strackbein said he traveled to the Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans over the weekend to confront Perry on the issue.

The bill would make it a Class A misdemeanor -- punishable by up to a year in prison or a $4,000 fine -- for a TSA agent to "touch the anus, sexual organ, buttocks, or breast of another person, even through that person's clothing" for the purpose of "granting access to a building or a form of transportation."

TSA pat-downs have drawn some high-profile criticism, including from former Miss USA Susie Castillo, who said in a widely-viewed online video. that she felt "molested" by a pat-down at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport in April.
The proposed law passed the Texas House during the regular session but was pulled off the Senate floor without a vote after U.S. Attorney John Murphy circulated a letter to senators warning that TSA has the authority to prevent airplanes from taking off from Texas airports if the agency cannot certify that they are safe.

In a blog on its website, TSA pointed out that the supremacy clause of the U.S. constitution prohibits states from regulating the federal government.
"We, transportation security officers in particular, are trying to work in partnership with the traveling public to make you safe on flights," the blog says. "Work with us to provide the best possible security. That's all we ask." [Story]

Oh yeah, the Supremacy Clause. Hey, who needs a "stinkin" Supremacy Clause when you are going to be your own country, soon?

Finally, there is a fierce debate going on  among some of you about who invented the cell phone. Some of you Negroes have declared that it is Dr. Henry Sampson, the brilliant African American engineer and author who became the first African American to earn a PhD in Nuclear Engineering back in the day.

Well, there is a problem, because some folks have declared that Martin Cooper, a white guy, invented the cell phone. And, sadly for some of you Negroes, they might be right. But here is the deal: It doesn't matter who really invented the cell phone, we are just glad to have it. Unfortunately certain folks in this country can't stand to see members of another tribe take (or get) credit for anything, so that "color arousal" kicks in. (Thanks again for that word Francis)
Then, as is to be expected, there is a push back. Black folks can't understand how folks in the majority have such a hard time giving them credit for anything, and they wonder why Charlie always has to "check and raise" us at every turn.

But here is the deal people; none of it matters. You have given more than enough of your blood sweat and tears for this country. Don't get caught up in this silly game of who invented what. It will take you away from focusing on what's really important: Making sure that you do what is right for you and your family, and ensuring that one day your children might be in a position to invent some things of their own.

Desperate measures.

I see where some poor guy just robbed a bank for a dollar so that he could get proper medical care. (h/t Vaughn for this story) That is not a good look for A-merry-ca. This reminds me of the story of that Michigan woman who is trying to sell her handwritten letter from O to pay her house note. Both cases of desperate people doing whatever it takes to survive in these post Bush apocalyptic times.

"A 59-year-old man has been jailed in Gastonia, N.C., on charges of larceny after allegedly robbing an RBC Bank for $1 so he could get health care in prison. Richard James Verone handed a female teller a note demanding the money and claiming that he had a gun, according to the police report.

He then sat down and waited for police to arrive. "… I say, 'I'll be sitting right over here, on the chair, waiting for the police,'" Verone told reporters, recalling the June 9 robbery in an interview from Gaston County Jail.

And wait for the police, he did.

"He's sitting on the sofa as you walk in the front door," the bank teller said in a 911 call.

Police arrested Verone where he sat. He was unarmed.

Verone said he asked for $1 to show that his motives were medical, not monetary, according to news reports. With a growth in his chest, two ruptured disks and no job, Verone hoped a three-year stint in prison would afford him the health care he needed.

"I'm sort of a logical person and that was my logic, what I came up with," Verone told reporters. "If it is called manipulation, then out of necessity because I need medical care, then I guess I am manipulating the courts to get medical care."

But the charge of larceny, not armed robbery, is unlikely to keep Verone behind bars for more than 12 months. He is being held in Gaston County Jail on a $2,000 bond, according to a spokesman for the jail, and is scheduled to appear in court June 28." [Story]

Poor Richard, the poor  guy can't buy a break; he didn't even rob the bank right.

I wonder if he voted for Obama and "Obamacare"?

In praise of AMC and Father's Day. And a phony Obama gets the boot.

I am having "The Killing" withdrawals already. Now what am I supposed to do at 10:00PM on Sunday nights? With all due respect to HBO, AMC is fast becoming the best channel on television for original programming.

So anyway, another Father's Day has come and gone. Hopefully, putting some focus on one particular day will continue to make us aware of the importance of being  good fathers. Clearly this guy wasn't a good father, and these guys more than likely weren't raised by one. But I suspect that most of you reading this are good fathers and were raised by good men. I know that I was. My father was the kind of man who was as comfortable with college presidents and Prime Ministers as he was with the "average Joe" on the street. He taught me the importance of judging people by their character and and not their title or the size of their bank book. He loved the same woman as long as I knew him, and he raised his two children to value education, family, and the community in which they live.

In the black community, now, more than ever, we need good fathers. I am glad that our president is a good role model in that respect. But we need the cab driver, the cop, and every dude in the neighborhood pushing a nine to five (even the ones who aren't) to be good role models as well.

Finally, I see that those oh so sensitive republiclowns yanked an Obama impersonator after his "tasteless Jokes" at their Leadership Conference in New Orleans.

Funny, they didn't yank my man until he started telling jokes about the republiclown candidates. It seems that only tasteless jokes about O will be tolerated by my wingnut friends.

Sorry Reggie, I hope that you at least got your check before you left.

Happy Father's Day?

I don't know if some of you are adult enough to handle this subject, but I am going to post it anyway.

I bet it sucks to be Anne Lynne Montgomery right now, girlfriend is on the run because her seventeen year old student was bringing her more than just apples to class.

Anne bore two kids for her student and is being charged with two second degree felonies for having sex with a minor.

Of course there is the racial twist to our little story (duh, that's why I am blogging about it) Anne is white and her young paramour is of the Negro persuasion. It happened four years ago so our student was thirteen at the time he was learning biology from Ms. Montgomery.

Oh well, happy Father's Day young man,it should get really interesting for you from here on out. (Story)

Finally, I would love to have been a part of that group when O and Mr. Tan Man teed it up for a round today. I am pretty sure I would have shot a lower round than O. Not Mr. Tan Man, though. He is a seven handicapper. Still, I bet I would have made him cry by telling him how A-merry-ca is treating her poor.
Sadly, I am not sure if O would have been listening to me; he would have just been crying over his missed putts.

Louie Louie!

For tonight's segment of wingnuts gone wild,I give you one Louie Gohmert from the great state of Texas.

"Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, an actual idiot, has said something idiotic.
Remember terror babies? And "overt homosexuality" in the military? And repealing the 17th Amendment? And "moo goo dog pan or moo goo cat pan"? This is the guy behind all of those "hits." He's a racist moron whom a civilized nation would consider institutionalizing for his and our safety. But in God's favorite country that He has ever created, ever, men like Gohmert are elected to Congress, over and over again.
What did he say this time?

GOHMERT: And I know the president made the mistake one day of saying he had visited all 57 states, and I'm well aware that there are not 57 states in this country, although there are 57 members of OIC, the Islamic states in the world. Perhaps there was some confusion whether he'd been to all 57 Islamic states as opposed to all 50 U.S. states. But nonetheless, we have an obligation to the 50 American states, not the 57 Muslim, Islamic states. Our oath we took is in this body, in this House. And it's to the people of America. And it's not to the Muslim Brotherhood, who may very well take over Egypt and once they do, they are bent upon setting up a caliphate around the world, including the United States. And this administration will been [sic] complicit in helping people who wants [sic] to destroy our country." [Source]

Hey Texas, about that secession thing.

"Oh Canada..."

My lord! White folks are rioting in Canada! Now I love Canada, but you all know that you don't have any business rioting. Vancouver is one of the truly great North American cities; please don't ruin it.

I know that you all love your Hockey, and it wasn't cool to see your team choke like dogs to those B's, but stop it already, you are confusing the children of racist here in A-merry-ca. They were raised to think that only Negroes riot. Yet still, you have to love those Canadians, they always find time for a little love in the middle of chaos.

But enough of my friends up North, I want to talk a litte A-merry-can politics.

It looks like our friend Mitt told a bunch of unemployed workers that he is also unemployed. What a jerk! Mitt, it's easy to be unemployed when you are worth over 200 million dollars. I guess I would be unemployed, too. Hell we all would be. Who would want to work when they have that kind of money at their disposal?

Anyway, it pays to have dumb people in your corner.

"The comment was clearly meant to hint jokingly at Romney's bid for the presidency, but it was also an odd statement coming from a candidate whose financial situation is so far removed from his audience's. A former head of Bain Capital, Romney is said to be worth at least $200 million--wealth that has enabled him to concentrate on running for president full time for the better part of the last five years.

But Romney's audience was in on the joke. According to Zeleny, the group "chuckled" along with Romney, with one man asking, "Are you on LinkedIn?"
The former governor replied, "I'm networking. I have my sight on a particular job." [Story]

Mitt, I am sure you do. Good luck with that.

So Mr. Weiner called it quits today. I really wish he hadn't done that. This gutless dumbocrats should be ashamed of themselves. So the guy got a little freaky with his Iphone, so what? He broke no laws. And as far as I can recall, he was never one of these hypocrites sitting in judgment of how others live their personal lives.(Unlike those other do as I say not as I do clowns on the other side) The dumbocrats got behind Bubba, why couldn't they have gotten behind this guy?  I guess the whole Internet thing is still new to them.

Got luck Anthony, I guess we will see you on CNN in the very near future.

Finally,I got all the emails from you haters after my city was voted the dirtiest in A-merry-ca right next to the "Big Easy". (A bogus poll if there ever was one.) Apparently, not everyone is drinking the "hateraid". Anyway, I challenge you to tell me what city or town you live in and I will be glad to go tit for tat with you as to why Philly is better.

It's only going to get worse.

For all of you wondering how much the wingnuts and the folks in the GOP will play on white folks "color arousal" issues this upcoming election season, please note that it has already started.

The DCCC is calling this the most racist republican ad. ever (that takes some doing)and they are calling on the leaders of the republiclown party to denounce the ad. Good luck with that....wait, I take that back; it seems that the ad. was denounced by the republican in this particular race.

“The Internet video in question is inappropriate, highly offensive and has no connection whatsoever to the Craig Huey campaign,” said Huey spokesman Jimmy Camp.
He said that the campaign doesn't know the makers, and described them as "very fringe."

OK, score one point for common decency. But where are the other republiclowns? Where are the black republiclowns who live under that "big tent" of theirs? Why the silence from them? Do they not find this stuff offensive?

"The DCCC calls it "offensive and sexist" but they're missing the entire racist dogwhistle aspect of the ad. It certainly is sexist and offensive, but the whole point of it is to activate race-based fears of black men who are out to get your white women ... and oh by the way, of Barack Obama ... and, by association, all the rest of those Democrats, too. This one makes the "Harold, call me" ad from 2008 look innocent.

Republicans intend to scare white people so much they'll check their brains at the door to the voting booth -- just forget everything else and vote your race.

Odious, ugly, despicable -- empty the dictionary on this one. Post-racial nation my ass, these people are just like cornered animals. They see their hold on authority slipping away and will do literally anything, no matter how vile, to hold on just a little longer." [Source]

My friend mooncat over at the Left In Alabama blog is outraged and rightfully so, but this is an uphill battle against the forces of wingnut evil. They are too content in their bigotry to care what a bunch of progressive bloggers think about them. They have no shame.Besides, they have a very powerful news network as a platform to show off their racism and ignorance. What could be better than that?

I will leave you with the words of Mark Karlin (a white man) from Buzzflash.com:

"Fox "News" sears the red-hot poker of racism into the heart of white Americans who emotionally need a scapegoat for the nation's economic collapse - and the erosion of the US Empire.

If some people wonder why racism still has such a strong appeal, remember that the poor and merchant-class whites of the Confederacy were as racist as the plantation owners. Having slaves to look down upon as sub-human creatures allowed even the poorest of white sharecroppers and indentured servants to feel a privileged psychological sense of social position in comparison to blacks." [Source]

I couldn't have said it better myself.

"Hoodlum in the hizzouse"?

Oh my! Fathers are killing family members in Maine! WTF is happening here in A-merry-ca? Maine?! We don't expect such things in that part of the republic. Murders and other heinous acts are reserved for those savages in our inner cities.
Hey, at least in Killadelphia we only cap strangers.

Anyway, on to my friends over at FOX. It seems that one of their hosts had to apologize for some racially insensitive things that he said recently.

"We got a little fast and loose with the language," Bolling said, "and we know it's being interpreted as disrespectful, and for that I'm sorry."

Mr. Bolling, if it's only "being interpreted as disrespectful" why are you apologizing? Don't cover up who you really are to be politically correct.
You work over at FOX, (*that is not a photo- shop with this post) you will be fine. There are no bigger race baiters in the news business than the folks over at FOX. There is good money in scaring those red state folks about the black "boogeyman" around every corner. That color arousal (thanks for the word Francis) will stir their passions every time.

So relax Mr. Bolling. In fact, don't let those sensitive black folks throw you off your game.

Finally, --and I have to be careful with this story-- here in Philly a judge ruled that the Philadelphia school district acted improperly for expelling a child in kindergarten for inappropriately touching his teacher's thigh.

Please read the story and tell me what you think. I am reserving my opinion on this one.

"A Philadelphia charter school abused its powers when it expelled a kindergartner for touching his teacher's thigh, a Common Pleas Court judge has ruled.
The unnamed 6-year-old touched the top of his teacher's thigh after she complained of leg pains, Judge Paul P. Panepinto wrote in his opinion.
While touching her legs, the child said "I want to make them feel better," testified Milissa Gillespie, the boy's teacher, who reported the incident.

The First Philadelphia Charter School for Literacy in Bridesburg argued that the court does not have the right to overturn the school's decision.
Citing past cases, Panepinto ruled that he can, in fact, step in when the school commits a gross abuse of discretion.

"While the Court is reluctant to disturb a decision concerning how a school enforces its policies, it is this Court's opinion that their action here was arbitrary, capricious and prejudicial to the public interest," Panepinto wrote.
The student was expelled because it was his fourth suspension - a trigger that requires the school's board of trustees to consider expulsion." [Story]

Folks, we are laughing right along with you.

I am watching the republiclown debate from New Hampshire and I sincerely mean this when I say that it is funnier than any sitcom that's on television. These guys (and gal) are funny.
Michele Bachmann actually made some news: She is running for President.

CNN is trying to humanize the candidates, and John King just asked Newt if he prefers Dancing With the Stars or American Idol. Newt quickly said American Idol. Nice. It's funny, but in order to win American Idol you need talent. To be elected president of these divided states you need talent as well. You have to know how to lie with a straight face. Most of these guys (and gal) on stage seem to have the lying part down pat. The problem is, of course, that they all look kind of silly doing it. I am not seeing any straight faces, just silly ones. You can't have a straight face when you are twisting like a pretzel.

My man Herman tried to explain his position on Medicare and social security by telling us about what Chile did over twenty years ago. *scratching head* Ron Paul is making them all uncomfortable on stage by talking about doing away with Medicare and the military industrial complex because it's not working. ---He is actually making more sense than his colleagues on stage.

Oh ohh, Herman is talking about Muslims again. And he is looking even more stupid than he did the last time. And there, right on cue, is Mitt Romney defending the rights of people to have their own religious beliefs in this country. Mitt is a Mormon, he is not exactly a member of a traditional main stream religion. I am glad he is standing up for folks who aren't Catholics or Protestants here in A-merry-ca. Wait, there is Newt to Herman's rescue. Newt is actually saying that he would have a loyalty oath in his administration. Something about A-merry-ca doing it before and the "Time Square Bomber" telling a judge that he was not his friend, and the Nazis.

"Mr. Cain, deep dish or thin crust?""Deep dish". Mitt wants his barbecue spicy and he just told us that the Bruins are up 4-0. [Huge applause] Nice, pick on the Canadians, no one from Vancouver will be voting for president of these divided states.

Now all the candidates are tripping over themselves to say that marriage should be between a man and a woman. They all want a Constitutional amendment to declare it so..... and, surprise, they all want to reverse "don't ask don't tell".

Now they are all talking about abortion. Michele Bachmann says that she is against abortion even in the case of rape, incest, or when the woman's life is threatened. She is telling us, once again, that she took in a bunch of foster kids and that she had five kids of her own.....

"Mr. Pawlenty Coke or Pepsi?" "Coke".

I am sorry, I can't watch this anymore. I usually like a laugh track when I watch a good comedy.

Hating on LeBron, a fake hero, and wives behaving badly.

I am watching the NBA finals to see if the next "great white hope "of basketball can get my favorite owner in all of sports a ring. (Dude can really ball. But Larry Bird? Come on now.)He called D Wade and King James ignorant for making fun of his illness, so this is not only great basketball but it's personal as well. I love it!

To the LeBron haters out there (I am talking to you, Cleveland) get over it. He is young, rich, and reviving interest in the NBA. Win or lose he will still be living large on South Beach and you will still be stuck in (pick your city) trying to make ends meet. (A six toe controversy? Are you serious?!)

Staying with sports; I see that Mike Tyson was inducted in the International Boxing Hall of Fame. Congrats Mike, did they serve Chianti at the reception in honor of your little ep with Evander Holyfield? Sorry, that was a low blow, but I just couldn't resist. Mike, in spite of your off court issues, you deserve to be in the hall. Just keep working on your acting skills. I sense a Hangover III coming.

Now the man who doesn't deserve to be there is Sylvester Stallone. He never stepped foot in a real boxing ring yet he is going into the Boxing Hall of Fame. Somehow that doesn't seem right. Memo to everyone in A-merry-ca, "Rocky" was a movie.

It's a disgrace that there is a statue of Rocky here in my hometown, and there is none for a real hometown champion who actually was the heavy weight champion of the world.

"Smokin Joe", you are a better man that I am. I would have demanded a statue the day they put up that joke of a statue to a fictional boxer in South Philly. They moved it to the Art Museum (right next to the steps Rocky ran up in the movie), but it's just as repulsive and offensive to me as it always was.

Finally, I am going to go ahead and make this an all sports post. Can one of you ladies who are regulars on this blog please reach out to Nogami Marshall. Seems girlfriend was arrested again for violating the terms of a stay away order. Here is the deal on stay away and protection from abuse orders: men aren't allowed to violate them, and neither can the members of the fairer sex. You will be arrested, and rightfully so.

Someone should tell Nogami that no one is worth losing her freedom over. Yeah I know, sometimes these dudes can be really trifling, but you already went Bobby Flay on him once, let it go.

Now back to the game.....

They should be kicking down the doors to this house.

*

WTF is going on in A-merry-ca? Please tell me that the Department of Education isn't kicking down doors to get their student loan money. (h/t to Steve S for this story) Okay, maybe it wasn't for unpaid student loans, but this is a very curious case.

Seriously, what did Kenneth Wright do to piss off the folks over at DOE so much? I will tell you whose door they need to be kicking in; folks like the governor of Pistolvania [*see pic] who just slashed 1.5 billion dollars from the funding for basic education in this state. Now that's criminal.

“The state budget proposed today will reverse eight years of academic progress in Philadelphia by slashing funding to vital programs created to put our students on equal footing with well-funded, high-achieving school districts.

“Budget cuts of this magnitude will mean increasing class sizes; will force reductions in employees hired to keep students safe and help students and families in crisis; and eliminate programs like honors and advanced placement classes, music, art, school libraries, counselors, vocational and career training and after-school programs that already are in short supply in urban schools.

“The only way to maintain vital services to children, this budget suggests, is for dedicated, hard-working teachers and staff to pay for these programs out of their own pockets through pay freezes, work furloughs and pension cuts and benefit reductions.

“Instead of investing in students by fully funding public education using the Costing-Out study’s recommendations, this budget slashes funding to the poorest students and, in the long run, will undermine our efforts to raise the educational achievement of Philadelphia residents.”

Who cares? They are just poor inner city kids. They will all be in prison soon. Those poor white folks in rural Pistolvania need jobs. That's where we build our prisons and hire the local help. Thank god for crime and prisons. Without them many of these rural towns would go broke.

Finally, am I the only person in A-merry-ca who doesn't care about the Casey Anthony trial? I sure hope not. It's sad what happened to that little girl, but.....sorry, I am starting to have Caylee overload.

I bet she voted.

Let me start this post by saying rest in peace Clara Luper. If it wasn't for folks like you an uppity black man from Jamaica probably wouldn't be speaking his mind and talking s&*^ to quite a few of his friends every day on the Internet. You were organizing sit- ins and forcing folks to integrate at a time when A-merry-ca was nothing like it is now.

A lot of folks like to take credit for making A-merry-ca look at herself in the mirror, but it's folks like you who deserve all of the credit.

And while we are recognizing the wonderful people of good will who put their lives on the line for what is right; let's go ahead and say a big thank you to those wonderful individuals (black and white) who took part in the "Freedom Rides" some fifty years ago.

I just read the book "Freedom Summer.." by Bruce Watson, and what those people went through will leave you shaking your head.

This is why it is so important that you Negroes exercise your right to vote. Too many people made great sacrifices for you to take such a right for granted. It's why certain people are trying to make it harder for you to vote. Those folks in the GOP aren't stupid, they realize what type of potential and power you could exercise at the ballot box. The numbers don't add up for them with the Negro vote, so they have to keep you away. (Sounds familiar?)

They can joke about it, but this is serious business. The s&*^ isn't funny to us. There are too many Clara Lupers out there who wouldn't want me to crack a f*&^%$g smile.

Jumping the good ship, Newt.

I was just in the gym, and I was listening to everything from Ace Hood to Barry Manilow on my iPod. Now if that ain't mixed up and confused I don't know what is. But I am like that with my music, my food, and with people. Yes, people.

I like all types of different things and cultures. With all due respect to Forrest Gump; life should be like a bowl of gumbo, not a box of chocolate. Honestly, how can you grow as a human being if you just stay stuck in your own little corner of the trailer park, the housing project, or your gated community? You have got to at least try to emancipate your mind and open up to new horizons.

Which is why I am wondering about certain people tonight. You know the ones. They are always the first to be "color aroused", (thanks for that word, Francis) point fingers at the other side or at those people, and they lock in the hardest to the talking points given to them by the puppet masters who control their thoughts and their lives. Of course, while they are doing this, they always seem to fail to take control of their own miserable and pathetic lives.

It's always easier to point fingers than to look in the mirror. Sadly, when some folks look in the mirror, they never like what they see.

Now on to the man who "cheated on his wives for America." Newt, over the objections of his senior staffers, though he could take a little cruise in the middle of his campaign. (Who takes a vacation so early in his campaign?) Newt, as men tend to do at times, listened to his wife and not the folks running the campaign; so he set sail on the Mediterranean. And now those folks are gone. Poof! Just like that! No more campaign staff.

Poor Newt, I don't think he likes what he sees when he looks in the mirror. I don't think his wife does, either. Thank god for Tiffany & Co.

Finally, I wish these phony dumbocrats would stop calling for Weiner's head. Unless he broke a law he should stay right where he is. His constituents like him, and from the looks of the latest polls they want him back. So Mr. Weiner, screw those phonies in Washington and focus on the people who sent you there.

They previously supported law breakers and Bubba when the chubby brunette was wetting his whistle, they should support you.

Tell me something

Enough of Weinergate, let's talk about Elmo.

I was hoping this was the end of Weinergate, but apparently everyone wants to get in their 15 minutes of fame before we can finally call it a wrap.- Ginger Lee, we see you.- Andrew Breitfart is peddling his book, so this couldn't come at a better time for him. I wonder if he talked about all the deviant s&^% he did while he was at Tulane? (I am not just talking partying and drinking.) I sure hope so. No one wants to read a sanitized version of the truth.

The guy was everywhere today, and he was gloating over his latest liberal scalp. It must be nice.

And why not? Even mainstream news organizations want to get into the act.( ABC paid how much to license those photos?)

Anthony, you should have listened to me and came clean. This would have been over days ago.

Anyway, I hope you don't resign. If David Vitter can pay a prostitute to have sex with him and still get reelected in very red Louisiana I am sure that you will be fine with your constituents. Don't listen to the hypocrites on the right calling for you to step down. Ask them why they weren't saying the same thing when Vitter was faking a public apology and going all Jimmy Swaggart on television. At least you apologized; Vitter, on the other hand, not so much. Diapers Mr. Vitter?! Now there is a freak.

Anthony, call another press conference tomorrow and tell A-merry-ca that you will resign if David Vitter resigns and let's see where the chips fall. Who knows? He just might do the right thing and do what his predecessor -another hypocrite from Louisiana- did in the midst of the Clinton Lewinsky scandal, but I doubt it.

Finally, just when you thought that wingnuts couldn't get any nuttier, they do.

Now they are attacking Elmo for being a liberal and having an "evil conservative bias". And what's really pissing off my friends on the right is that they believe that the Sesame Street gang is dumbing down black and Latino children. Yes, you read that correctly. Not a poor family structure, not a lack of a proper education, and not a lack of proper resources in their homes; but Sesame Street.

Still, I am disappointed. I was hoping that the Cookie Monster was the most liberal of the bunch. He is my favorite. [Story]

Weiner was sexting. Now about those jobs.

Oh oh Andrew, I hate to pile on, but even the democrats are pissed at you. (I see that Lady Nancy is already calling for an ethics investigation.) You took too long to come clean with your Internet escapades. What were you thinking? You had to have known that you sent the pictures of yourself au naturale. Why the week long press tour to deny your short comings? (No pun intended.) And was that Andrew Breitfart at your press conference? Yes, I think it was.

Anyway, today you finally came clean:

"I take full responsibility for my actions," Weiner said. "The picture was of me, and I sent it."

Yes Anthony, we can see that it was you. And I am sure that there will be more to come.
BTW, what is it with you elected officials from New York and these nude pictures of yourselves? "Sexting"? Leave that stuff to the teenagers.

Still, after all is said and done, you might just get reelected. (If you don't lose your seat to redistricting.) As far as I can tell, you didn't break any laws, and you seem to do a good job for your district. Hey if folks like Charlie Rangel and David Vitter can get reelected, I am sure that you will be fine.

Finally, (h/t to CNN where I heard this today) why are the republicans in Congress not doing anything about the high unemployment in this country? They swept into power this midterm promising to get us jobs and turn the economy around. But they have done nothing. They have given us no ideas and have done every thing in their power to make sure that his O ness is not successful as president. If the economy fails and folks lose their jobs then Obama fails. I am sure that is just fine with them.

"Since assuming the majority, House Republicans have focused their attention on symbolic health care votes and divisive anti-abortion bills instead of job creation, which they promised to make their "number one priority." Their only real effort to address the economy, a controversial proposal to slash spending on government programs, could have a devastating impact on the recovery. The best evidence Republican leaders can muster that their massive spending cuts won't harm the economy is the testimony of Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, who actually believes that the proposal will destroy "a couple hundred thousand" jobs.

When there's good news, Republicans are quick to claim credit, but it's increasingly apparent that they're more excited about bad news. Just compare the press releases blasted out when monthly job statistics fall below expectations and when they exceed them. This, of course, is all part of a strategy to achieve what Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has unapologetically labeled "the single most important thing" for Republicans to accomplish: making sure President Obama loses in 2012."

Mr. Tan Man, why do you and your friends hate the American worker?

A real Philly Diva, and a wingnut's version of history.

Man you Divas can be a trip sometimes. Seems that some cadet is alleging that Philly's very own Diva, Ms. Patti, ordered her bodyguards to put a beat down on him because he was getting a little too close for comfort. (Philly and Diva is not a good combination.) Now homeboy is suing.

"SEEMS AS IF Patti LaBelle's next single should be a cover of the Police's "Don't Stand So Close to Me."

On Wednesday, Richard King filed a lawsuit against the Wynnewood-based LaBelle and her bodyguards after they allegedly beat the living crap out of him. King, a West Point cadet and member of the school's football team, was returning home for spring break on March 11 via Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston when LaBelle's bodyguard's took issue with his proximity to the Queen of Rock 'n' Soul's luggage.

The lawsuit says King was waiting for his ride, when LaBelle got into her stretch limo. She decided King was too close, siccing her guards on him. While the attack was occurring, King said that LaBelle "watched the vicious assault with approval" from the safety of her limo.

"LaBelle is hot-tempered herself, and has a reputation for both inciting and participating in acts of violence in public," the suit reads. "She ordered it, and never tried to stop it."

Hmmm, if that's all there is to the story it wouldn't be a good look for lady Patti. But every story has two sides.

"LaBelle did get out of her car by the time the Houston Police Department arrived on the scene. In security-camera footage, she is seen posing for snapshots with the officers just a few feet from the blood-splattered pavement where the beatdown took place. (Not cool, HPD. But, can you blame them? She was LaBelle in LaBelle!)

King wasn't so starstruck. "He didn't know who Patti LaBelle was," King's attorney John Raley told KHOU 11 News. "He didn't know he was standing anywhere near somebody famous." Instead of beating King up, LaBelle's bodyguards should have just laid some knowledge on the boy. There's no excuse for ignorance of pop-music royalty.

Too bad for King that the police report doesn't jibe with his story. The HPD didn't deny that the attack occurred (it was all caught on camera) but says that it was King who was the attacker. LaBelle's son/limo driver Zuri Edwards told cops that the cadet made the first move, striking him after Edwards told him to vamoose.

The report also says King smelled of alcohol, which King acknowledges. "I had some drinks on the plane, but I mean, I wasn't anywhere near intoxicated or anything along those lines," King told KHOU.

King, who is also suing the airport and a taxi dispatcher for not providing a safe environment, is seeking actual and punitive damages, as well as attorney fees and court costs." [Story]

As Warner Wolf used to say: we will just have "to go to the video tape" on this one.

Finally, someone has to have a real sit down with these high profile republican politicians and school them on some basic history about this country.

First a high schooler gives Michele Bachmann an intellectual beat down, and openly challenges her to a debate on the Constitution.

"I have found quite a few of your statements regarding The Constitution of the United States, the quality of public school education and general U.S. civics matters to be factually incorrect, inaccurately applied or grossly distorted," writes Cherry Hill, N.J., high schooler Amy Myers. She concludes: "I, Amy Myers, do hereby challenge Representative Michele Bachmann to a Public Forum Debate and/or Fact Test on The Constitution of the United States, United States History and United States Civics." [Source]

She has yet to respond to the youngster.

And then there is our girl Sarah, who..... ahh what the hell, just read the article.

"Sarah Palin is the comedic gift that keeps on giving. She demonstrated that once again on her non-publicity-seeking bus tour when she attempted to give a history lesson about Paul Revere's famous midnight ride, and botched almost every fact.

"He who warned uh, the British that they weren't gonna be takin' away our arms, uh by ringing those bells, and um, makin' sure as he's riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be sure and we were going to be free, and we were going to be armed."

As any elementary school student can probably tell you, Paul Revere was not attempting to warn the British when he rode around crying, "The British are coming." Nor was he ringing bells and trying to protect gun rights.

Apparently Palin learned nothing at any of the five colleges she attended." [Source]

Can one of my republican friends please tell me where to send a donation for her presidential campaign? I would love to give. Poor Sarah, I guess she needs this little history tour more than she thinks.
